7 Shot Screamers, an American psychobilly band from Fenton, Missouri, was formed in 1998 by Mike Leahy and Chris Powers Jr. The duo met while attending Parkway South High School and initially played punk music before transitioning to rockabilly. They met Kevin O'Connor at a jazz concert, who became their drummer. While still in high school, the band's singles gained local radio play on KDHX, helping them secure one of their first shows at St. Louis' Way Out Club. Their first 7" single sold over 1,500 copies, and their LP, I Was a Teenage 7 Shot Screamer, released in June 2001, sold over 2,000 copies and was later reissued by Hepcat Records. In 2003, Dan Sabella joined as guitarist. The band's 2006 album, 7 Shot Screamers in Wonderland, featured their first recorded song in Spanish. They were named the top Garage/Rockabilly band in St. Louis by the Riverfront Times in 2006.
