Biography
Formed in 2002 in Volendam, Dutch pop trio 3JS jumped to national fame in 2007 with their first album Watermensen. Originally composed of Jan Dulles, Jaap Kwakman, and Jaap de Witte, the group made their official debut in 2007 with the Top 30 single âKom,â which was included in their studio debut, released later that year. The album reached Number 6 on the Dutch charts and stayed there for a total of 87 weeks. A second full-length titled Kamers Van M'n Hart arrived in 2008, breaking into the Top 5 in the Netherlands and spawning the Top 10 single âHou Van Mij.â Following the release of Dromers en Dwazen in 2010, 3JS had the chance to represent the Netherlands at the 56th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with âNever Alone,â the English version of their chart-topping single âJe Vecht Nooit Alleen.â Despite reaching the semi-finals, the song finished in last place with a total of 13 points. Over the next few years, 3JS issued a string of highly successful albums such as 4 Elementen (2012), 7 (2015), Acoustic Christmas Volume 2 (2016), and Nu (2018), all of which broke into the Top 10 on the Dutch Albums Chart. They finally scored their first Number 1 record with 2020âs De Aard Van Het Beest and dropped the Top 40 single âVreemde Leegteâ a year later.
