1200 Micrograms, also known as 1200 Mics, is a psychedelic trance project formed in 1999. The group consists of the British artists David Potter Christman, known as DJ Chicago, and Ronald Rothfield, known as Raja Ram, alongside the Dutch producer Shajahan "Riktam" Matkin. Former member Joseph "Bansi" Quinteros was part of the group until his death in 2018. Their debut album, 1200 Micrograms (2002), includes the songs âAyahuascaâ (2002) and âLSDâ (2002) and features samples of Terence McKenna. Their second album, Heroes of the Imagination (2003), is dedicated to notable scientists and includes the song âAcid for Nothingâ (2003), a remix of the Dire Straits song âMoney for Nothingâ (1985). Subsequent releases include the albums The Time Machine (2004), Live in Brazil (2005), and Magic Numbers (2007). Their discography also includes the EP Gramology (2010).
