Zinc was an Australian pop-rock trio formed in 2002 by singer-songwriters Adam Ray and brothers John and Mark O'Shea. The band spent time in Los Angeles working with producer Mark Hudson and contributing backing vocals to recordings by Ringo Starr and Steven Tyler, before releasing their debut single on WEA Records. "The Morning After" reached number 22 on the ARIA Singles Chart in 2004, and was followed by "Help Me Help Myself" and "Inside," both of which entered the Top 100. Produced by Charles Fisher, their only album, Making Sense of Madness, was released in 2005. Zinc toured nationally with Shannon Noll and later supported Hanson on the Australian leg of its Live and Electric Tour. The trio disbanded in 2007.
