Biography

Francesco Motta, known as Motta, and born on October 10, 1986, in Pisa, Italy, is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He co-founded the punk band Criminal Jokers, which released This Was Supposed to Be the Future in 2010 and later shifted towards new wave sounds with their second album Bestie (2012). Motta's debut solo album La fine dei vent’anni, produced by Riccardo Sinigallia, was released in 2016. His subsequent albums include Vivere o morire (2018), Motta dal vivo (2019), Semplice (2021), La musica è finita (2023) and Suona! Vol. 1 (2024). Motta won the Targa Tenco award for Best Debut Album in September 2016, and the Italian Independent Music Award from MEI in the same year.
