Zdravko ÄoliÄ, born on May 30, 1951, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a notable pop singer from the former Yugoslavia. He began his musical journey playing guitar at local gatherings with friend Braco IsoviÄ. His first significant public singing experience was in 1967 when he won second prize singing "Lady Madonna" by The Beatles at an amateur competition. ÄoliÄ joined his first band, Mladi i lijepi, and later became a member of Ambasadori. In 1970, he formed Novi Ambasadori with other musicians. His breakthrough came when Kornelije KovaÄ invited him to join Korni Grupa in September 1971. ÄoliÄ's career took off with the release of "PlaÄem za tvojim usnama" / "Zapjevaj", which sold well despite plagiarism controversies. His emotionally expressive tenor voice and stage presence led to numerous acclaimed albums, including Ti si mi u krvi (1984), featuring the popular ballad of the same name . The popular singer followed up with original studio albums Zdravko ÄoliÄ (1988), Da ti kažem Å¡ta mi je (1990), Kad bi moja bila (1997), Okano (2000), Äarolija (2003), ZaviÄaj (2006), Kad pogledaÅ¡ me preko ramena (2010), Vatra i barut (2013), and Ono malo sreÄe (2017), among many live recordings and compilations over the years.
