Biography

Born in Marseille, Yves Brouqui got his start in Emmanuel Bex's quintet (Bex'tet), with whom he recorded two albums before moving to New York in 1994. A regular at the Smalls Jazz Club, he collaborated and toured with many artists (Steve Potts, Grant Stewart, Michael Wilner...) and recorded his first album Foreign Currency in 1999, which was widely acclaimed by the critics (it received a Diapason d'or). After Live at Smalls (2002) and Made in France (2006), the guitarist pays tribute to a piano giant in The Music of Horace Silver in 2011.
