Biography

A guitarist since the age of seven, Misja Fitzgerald Michel attended the jazz class at the Conservatoire de Paris and left to perfect his skills in New York in 1993. A student of François Jeanneau, Jim Hall and Kenny Werner, he played in clubs, released two self-produced albums and formed a duo with bassist Drew Gress for Expectations (2004), before embarking on a festival tour. The following year saw the release of Encounter, an album recorded as a trio, followed by Time Of No Reply (2012), an astonishing and acclaimed tribute to folksinger Nick Drake.
