Yung Kai, born July 5, 2002, in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, is a Chinese-Canadian singer and musician. He began producing music in his bedroom studio in 2018, learning drums, piano, and guitar under the influence of his older brother, and later gained exposure by uploading covers to TikTok in 2022. He released the single âListen to This When You're Down <3â (2022), followed by âWildflowerâ (2024). In August 2024, the track âBlueâ went viral on social media, reaching number 19 on the Billboard Global 200 and topping the Indonesia Songs chart, while entering the top five of the Philippines Hot 100. A remix of âBlueâ with Minnie was released in 2025. He signed with Flood Division and BMG, and released his debut studio album, Stay with the Ocean, I'll Find You, on September 26, 2025, which included the single âDo You Think You Could Love Me?â (2025). The album launch was preceded by a performance at Wanderlandâs tenth anniversary festival and the announcement of the Flower Moon and Star Tour across Asia, North America, and Europe.
