Biography

Yuki Kajiura, born on August 6, 1965, in Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned Japanese composer, arranger, and music producer. Her musical journey began early, writing her first composition at 7 years old. Kajiura's family moved to West Germany for a period due to her father's work, but they later returned to Japan, where she completed her education. Initially working as a systems engineer, she shifted her focus to music in 1992. Yuki Kajiura gained prominence for her work in the anime industry, composing music for popular series like Sword Art Online, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, The Garden of Sinners, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaib. Her style is known for its unique blend of contemporary classical and electronic music. Yuki Kajiura's solo project, FictionJunction, involves collaborations with various artists, including vocalist Yuuka Nanri. They produced the opening and ending songs for "Madlax" and released their first album Destination in 2005. Yuki Kajiura has been a special guest at several concerts and anime conventions internationally, including Anime Expo and Anime Boston. Her official solo discography includes albums like Fiction (2003), Fiction II (2011), and the compilation The Works for Soundtrack (2011), which compiled some of her most popular soundtrack pieces throughout the years.
