Biography

Yuka Kitamura (北村友香), born 27 April 1990 in Hokkaido, Japan, is a composer, arranger, pianist, and violinist whose career began with score work for Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn (2012) and Armored Core: Verdict Day (2013). She joined FromSoftware in 2011 and contributed to the studio’s “soulsborne” titles, becoming the principal composer for Dark Souls II (2014), Bloodborne (2015), Dark Souls III (2016), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (2019), and Elden Ring (2022). The Elden Ring soundtrack earned her nominations for Best Video‑Game Music at the Game Awards 2022, BAFTA Games Awards 2022, and Game Developers Choice Awards 2023. In 2023 she left FromSoftware to pursue independent projects, collaborating on Seasons with Alex Roe (2024) and the Arknights Anniversary Album (2024). In 2026, the compilation BLOODBORNE VOL. I & II was released as an exclusive 3-LP box set to commemorate the game's 10th anniversary.
