Biography

Glenn Clifton Jr., known as Young Bleed, was an American rapper born on June 6, 1974, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He began rhyming at age nine, influenced by his mother's poetry and Run-DMC's music. By his teens, he recorded and sold hip-hop tapes independently. Young Bleed gained national attention with "How You Do That", a collaboration with C-Loc remixed by Master P for the 1997 soundtrack to I'm Bout It. This led to a deal with Priority Records and the release of his debut album, My Balls & My Word, which peaked at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. He continued releasing music independently after leaving Priority Records, including albums like Rise Thru da Ranks from Earner Tugh Capo (2005), Once Upon a Time in Amedica (2007), Preserved (2011), Livin' (2017), Sign n' Wonders (2020), and Dare 'Iza' God (2022). Young Bleed died on November 1, 2025 at the age of 51, following a brain aneurysm.
