Biography

Ylva Johnsen Olaisen, known professionally as YLVA, was born on June 19, 2000, in Kristiansand, Vågsbygd, Norway. She is a singer who gained prominence through her participation in TV 2's The Stream in 2016, where she finished second and secured a record deal with Universal Music. Olaisen attended the music program at Vågsbygd videregående skole in Kristiansand. Olaisen released her debut album Ylva, on February 24, 2017. Her subsequent releases include the EP De Neste (April 19, 2021) and Gule Roser (September 10, 2021), featuring the duet "Bli Her" with Sit Brenner (Number 8 on Top 40 Radio). Other notable singles from her discography are "Grow Up" (May 31, 2019), "Flame" (March 27, 2020), and "Du Vil Ikke Gå Fra Meg" (May 14, 2021). Olaisen also participated in two seasons of TV 2's Generasjon Z from 2018 to 2019. In 2025, the single "Maskulin" was ranked Number 14 on VGlista Top 40 Singles.
