YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz was a Japanese rock band formed in March 2010 by the musician Gackt. Initially, YFC was not a conventional band but a project name used for Gackt's European tour that year under the slogan "I want more real men in Japan! So let's do something to encourage men to change!" The original lineup included members of GacktJob such as You, Chachamaru and others. Their first concert, titled "GACKT Danson Jyohi Hadaka Matsuri", took place on March 21, 2010 in Kawasaki, Japan. Following the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz transitioned into a full band with new members, including Jon Underdown. They released their first mini-CD The End of the Day on September 14, 2011, followed by the EP All My Love / You Are the Reason on December 28, 2011. Their debut album, Yellow Fried Chickenz I, was released in March 2012. The band embarked on tours across Asia and Europe, donating part of their earnings to support children orphaned by the disaster through Gackt's SHOW YOUR HEART campaign.
