Yanawaraba is a Japanese female duo music unit consisting of Risei Higashisato (born January 24, 1983, Okinawa Prefecture) and Yu Ishigaki (born December 24, 1982, Okinawa Prefecture). The two childhood friends, who grew up on Ishigaki Island, began writing songs to distract themselves from the loneliness of living alone in Osaka, where they were going to school. 2003 marked the beginning of their activities, and their appearance on the TV program "Street Fighters" brought them to the attention of the public. Armed with sanshin tones and clear harmonies, she made her major debut in 2004 with the album "Blue Treasure," and released the single "Ichigo Ichie" on July 25, 2007. The song was used as the ending theme for the TV drama "Kikujiro to Saki," and its warm lyrics about the preciousness of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter resonated with many. In 2015, he contributed to the registration of "Folk Song Day" as a commemorative day as the originator, and left his own mark on the Japanese music scene. The group regrettably disbanded on December 31, 2020.
