Biography
Xavier DÃaz-Latorre, born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1968, is a musician. He studied at the Musikhochschule Basel under Oscar Ghiglia and later focused on early music with Hopkinson Smith at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. In 1995, DÃaz-Latorre began his involvement in baroque opera, participating in notable productions such as Semele by Handel at the Berlin State Opera and L'Orfeo by Monteverdi at various international venues. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles like Hesperion XXI and Le Concert des Nations. DÃaz-Latorre founded Laberintos Ingeniosos, an ensemble specializing in music from the Spanish Golden Age, releasing albums such as Danzas de Rasgueado y Sones de Palacio, with music by the Aragonese composer Gaspar Sanz, recorded on the Zig-Zag Territoires label, which has received excellent reviews in the media. Xavier DÃaz-Latorre has also participated in more than 30 recordings for Alia Vox and Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, and has contributed to recordings for television and radio stations in Europe, North and South America, and Korea.
