Biography

Wynona Merceris Carr, born on August 23, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio, was an American gospel, R&B, and rock and roll singer. In the late 1940s, she signed to Specialty Records and recorded under the name Sister Wynona Carr. Her early work included notable tracks like "The Ball Game".
