Roper was an American Christian pop-punk band from Denver, Colorado, that formed in 2004. The group was founded by lead singer Reese Roper, formerly of the band Five Iron Frenzy, and included Jonathan Byrnside on lead guitar, Matt "Emo" Emmett on rhythm guitar, Jonathan Till on bass, and Nick White on drums. Before forming the group, Reese Roper led the short-lived project Guerilla Rodeo, which released an EP in 2004. The band's debut studio album, Brace Yourself for the Mediocre, was released in 2004 under the label Five Minute Walk Records. Because the band's lineup was not officially finalized during the production of the recording, the only official member appearing on the CD was Reese Roper, supported by additional musicians such as Ethan Luck and Masaki Liu. The album reached number 46 on the Top Heatseekers chart and number 27 on the Top Christian Albums chart. The band disbanded in 2005.
