Biography

Voigt/465 was an Australian post-punk band formed in 1976 in Sydney. Their music epitomized the do-it-yourself ethic of the alternative music scene. The group released their self-funded single "State"/"A Secret West" in November 1978 and gained a following through performances at inner-city venues in Sydney and Melbourne. In 1979, they recorded their album Slights Unspoken, which was released in September of that year. Voigt/465 was also notably highlighted as the Band of 1979 in Clinton Walker’s book Inner City Sound. In 2017, their selected recordings from 1978-1979 were compiled and reissued into the album Slights Still Unspoken.
