James Roderick Moir, born January 24, 1959, in England, is an English comedian, artist, actor, and singer best known by his stage name Vic Reeves. After performing on the alternative comedy circuit and hosting his stage show Vic Reeves Big Night Outâwhere he met comedy partner Bob Mortimerâhe embarked on a brief musical career. In 1991, he released his debut studio album, I Will Cure You, on Island Records, which peaked at number 16 on the UK Albums Chart. The album featured his breakthrough single âDizzyââa collaboration with the Wonder Stuffâwhich achieved Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. The album also produced a cover of Matt Monro's âBorn Freeâ, peaking at number 6, and a dance version of the hymn âAbide with Meâ, which reached number 47. Although he did not release further albums, he remained a prominent figure in British comedy and television.
