Vello Orumets, born on June 28, 1941, in Viljandi, Estonia, was an Estonian singer. He graduated from the Estonian SSR State Philharmonic's stage studio in 1960 and studied music pedagogy at the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute from 1959 to 1962. Orumets began his musical career as a soloist for the band Laine from 1960 until 1977, followed by a stint with Erfia from 1978 to 1988. His debut album Laulab Vello Orumets was released in 1982. Subsequent albums include Valged jõulud (2000), Eesti kullafond (2001), and Igatsus on armastus (2009). He passed away on May 26, 2012, in Tartu.
