Up Up Girls was formed in 2017 in Japan as a fiveâmember female pop group under the label TâPalette Records. The original lineupâChinatsu Takahagi, Riko Hashimura, Aya Kajishima, Mayu Yoshikawa, and Rin Nakaokiâemerged from a nationwide audition and debuted with the single "Upper Disco / Forever Young" in May 2017. The groupâs early releases, including "Be Lonely Together" (August 2019), helped establish their presence in the Jâpop scene. Chronologically, they released the album Aoharu 1st on 12 November 2019, followed by the EP Tsuyogari no Rairairai / Semete Semete / Paaree~ / Glass no Junjou on 10 February 2021. Their singles consistently charted within the top 100 of the Oricon singles chart, with "Be Lonely Together" peaking at number 57 in August 2019.
