Tuxedomoon is an American experimental post-punk and new wave band formed in 1977 in San Francisco, California by Steven Brown and Blaine L. Reininger. Bassist Peter Principle joined shortly after, and the group released the EP No Tears (1979) featuring the cult classic title track "No Tears" (1979). In 1979, the band signed with Ralph Records and released their debut studio album, Half-Mute (1980). The group subsequently relocated to Europe, eventually settling in Brussels, Belgium, where they signed with Crammed Discs and released the albums Holy Wars (1985) and Ship of Fools (1986). After separating in the early 1990s, the band reunited later that decade for a performance in Tel Aviv. The group has since released several albums, including Cabin in the Sky (2004), Bardo Hotel Soundtrack (2006), and Vapour Trails (2007). Filmmaker and backing vocalist Bruce Geduldig died on March 7, 2016, and Principle died on July 17, 2017.
