Roberto Guzmán Rosado Jr. is an American rapper born on March 19, 1976, in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Known professionally as Tru Life, he began his music career in 1999 after signing with the label DreamWorks Records. He reached wider visibility after signing a deal with Jay-Z for the label Roc-A-Fella Records. His recording career included the studio recording Cryin' Out Loud (2001) and the mixtape recording The New New York: The Movement (2005). He contributed the song "Wet Em Up" (2008) to the video game Grand Theft Auto IV. Tru Life released the mixtape recording Tru York (2007) and collaborated with musicians including Rick Ross and Future. He served a prison sentence between 2011 and 2016. In 2017, he signed with the label Freebandz and released the studio recording Walking on Water (2018).
