Biography

Troop 41, an American hip‑hop group formed in 2005 in Raleigh, North Carolina, comprised Tristian Brown (T‑Breezy), Lelynd Darkes (Lil Lee), and Dakare Wilder (Lil Inferno). The trio, whose combined ages at formation yielded the name “Troop 41,” began performing after a freestyle poetry class taught by Lester Francis at John W. Ligon Middle School, where they learned to write rap as poetry. Their breakthrough came with the 2010 single "Do the John Wall", produced by Darius “DeeMoney Beatz” Lassiter, which entered the Billboard Hot 100 at Number 76 on January 11, 2011, and later re‑released by Universal Republic after amassing over ten million YouTube views. They collaborated with artists such as Young Scrap on "Text Me" and featured Lil Chuckee on a remix of "Do the John Wall".
