Trio Beyond, an American jazz organ trio formed in 2003, was initiated by drummer Jack DeJohnette as a tribute to fellow drummer Tony Williams. The group featured guitarist John Scofield and Larry Goldings on electric piano, Hammond B-3 organ, and sampling. Their debut album, Saudades, recorded live at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall during the 2004 London Jazz Festival, was released in 2006. The material included compositions from various bands and sources, such as Williams' Lifetime band and Miles Davis' recordings with Williams from 1963 to 1967. In 2007, Saudades received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrumental Jazz Album. Trio Beyond toured Europe in 2006, showcasing their blend of avant-jazz fusion and hard bop styles.
