Biography
Transviolet, an alternative pop rock band from Los Angeles, was formed in 2015 and consisted of Sarah McTaggart on vocals, Judah McCarthy and Michael Panek as musicians and writers, and Jon Garcia on drums/production. Initially forming online, the band moved to the West Coast for in-person collaboration. Transviolet gained initial recognition through a publicity stunt involving anonymous packages containing their song "Girls Your Age", which garnered over 20 million streams. Their eponymous EP was released in 2015 and featured the single "New Bohemia", which peaked at number 35 on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart in April 2016. The band toured with LANY in 2016 and performed on various high-profile shows, including The Late Late Show with James Corden and The Today Show. Transviolet released the album Born to Rule in 2020, followed by Body (2023) and Softcore (2025).
