Trace Bundy, born on January 20, 1977, in Austin, Minnesota, is an American acoustic guitarist known for his innovative fingerstyle technique. He began playing guitar as a teenager, developing his unique style by experimenting with fingerpicking, harmonic slapping, and inventive use of multiple capos. Bundy's first musical release was O Night Divine (1999), a collection of traditional Christmas songs. His next recording, containing all original songs, was Solomon's Splendor (2000). In October 2004, he released Adapt, a CD/DVD of a live concert filmed in Boulder, which garnered significant online attention, particularly for his covers of "I Want It That Way" and Pachelbel's "Canon." Subsequent releases include the EP A Few Songs for Christmas (2007), Missile Bell (2008), and Elephant King (2012). He was named "Most Promising New Talent of the Year" by Acoustic Guitar magazine in 2008 and won the ESPN SportsCenter Fan Jam contest in 2014. Bundy was the subject of the short documentary Acoustic Ninja, which premiered at several film festivals in 2016 and was a finalist at the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase at Cannes in 2017.
