Anthony Charles Wakeford, born on May 2, 1959 in Surrey, England, is a British neofolk musician. He began his career as the bassist for the punk rock band Crisis, which performed at events organized by Rock Against Racism and the Anti-Nazi League. After Crisis disbanded, Wakeford co-founded Death in June but was fired in early 1984 due to his right-wing leanings. He then formed the post-punk band Above the Ruins and released their demo album Songs of the Wolf in October 1984. In 1987, Wakeford distanced himself from right-wing views and formed the neofolk band Sol Invictus. Throughout his career, Wakeford released numerous albums under Sol Invictus, including Against the Modern World (1988) and In the Jaws of the Serpent (1989). In 2017, he toured with a new lineup of Crisis.
