Biography
Teun Eikelboom, better known as Tonny Eyk, born on July 4, 1940, in The Hague, Netherlands, was a Dutch pianist and composer. His musical journey began at age seven when he formed an accordion duo called Les Deux Jeateux with his twin sister Sjaantje Eikelenboom, also known as Jeanette. In 1957, they secured a contract with Heck's Lunchroom on Amsterdam's Rembrandt Square, marking their breakthrough in the music scene. Eyk released several albums throughout his career, including Piano Party (1988), Tonny Eyk - Piano (2001), and Piano Cocktail (2002). He collaborated with numerous artists such as Ringo Starr, Toots Thielemans, and Oleta Adams. Additionally, he performed at significant events, including the inauguration of Queen Beatrix in 1980 and her 25-year jubilee reign in 2005.
