Toni Vescoli, born on July 18, 1942, in Zurich, Switzerland, is a Swiss musician and singer-songwriter. He learned to play the guitar in the late 1950s and formed the rock group Les Sauterelles in 1962, gaining fame as the "Swiss Beatles." Their single "Hongkong" (1965) reached Number 1 on the Swiss charts, while "Heavenly Club" (1968) also reached Number 1. They disbanded in 1970 but reunited in 1993 before disbanding again in 2021 following the death of bassist Freddy Mangili. Vescoli pursued a solo career starting in 1970, with solo releases including the singles "De Wilhelm Täll" (1971) and "Es Pfäffli" (1974), which reached number 9 on the Swiss charts. His discography also includes the albums Lueg für dich (1974), Guete Morge (1975), Tegsass (1999), and 66 (2008). He received the Prix Walo in 2000 and the Prix Walo d'honneur in 2016.
