Biography

Thomas Steven Wopat, also known as Tom Wopat, born on September 9, 1951, in Lodi, Wisconsin, is an American singer and actor. He began his career as a performer while attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Wopat first gained fame through his role as Lucas K. "Luke" Duke on the television series The Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985). Following this, he embarked on a music career, releasing several albums, including A Little Bit Closer in 1987. His musical style spans country and pop standards, with notable singles released throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Wopat has also had a prolific stage career, appearing in numerous Broadway productions such as I Love My Wife, Carousel, Annie Get Your Gun, and Catch Me If You Can. He received Tony Award nominations for his role in Annie Get Your Gun (1999). He also released the album, Tom Wopat Sings Harold Arlen, in 2005. In 2008, he received his second Tony nomination for his performance in A Catered Affair.
