Tom Grant, born February 22, 1946 in Portland, Oregon, is an American jazz pianist and vocalist. Raised in a musical family, he learned to play piano and drums at a young age. After graduating from the University of Oregon, Grant moved to New York City in 1970 with saxophonist Jim Pepper, leading to collaborations with jazz greats such as Woody Shaw, Charles Lloyd, and Tony Williams. His first solo record, Mystified, was released in 1976. In 1983, he began recording a series of jazz-influenced pop albums that became best-sellers in the lite jazz market. Notable releases include Just The Right Moment (1985), In My Wildest Dreams (1992), and Instinct (1995). Grant has also composed music for TV and radio, and appeared on CNN and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. His extensive discography includes over 20 albums.
