Born in 1979 in Augsburg, Germany, Tobias Haaks began singing at age eight with the Augsburger Domsingknaben. Haaks made an operatic debut at eleven as the first boy in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz and Theater Augsburg. Haaks studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg-Augsburg under Fenna Kuegel-Seifried, transitioning to tenor after initially training as a baritone. Career engagements include the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, and Theater Koblenz. Notable roles include Max in Weber's Der Freischütz, Parsifal in Wagner's Parsifal, Tito Vespasiano in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito, and Lohengrin in Wagner's Lohengrin. Haaks also sang in operas by Verdi, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky, as well as modern works.
