Biography

Christiane Libor is a German opera and concert singer known for her dramatic soprano voice. She studied at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin under Anneliese Fried and received further artistic guidance from figures such as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Júlia Várady, and Brigitte Fassbaender, in addition to participating in masterclasses with renowned singers. She made her stage debut in 1999 as the First Lady in Die Zauberflöte at the Nationale Reisopera in Enschede and as Agathe in Der Freischütz. Libor has appeared at major opera houses including the Hamburg State Opera, where she performed roles such as the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, as well as venues across Europe such as the Vienna Volksoper, Zurich Opera House, and Opéra National de Paris. Her repertoire includes major Wagnerian roles, notably Brünnhilde in Der Ring des Nibelungen, which she performed at the Leipzig Opera under Ulf Schirmer. Alongside her stage career, she has been a professor of singing at the Karlsruhe University of Music since 2011.
