Biography
Tine Thing Helseth, born on August 18, 1987 in Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian trumpeter. She began trumpet studies at age seven and later trained at the Barratt Due Institute of Music and the Norwegian Academy of Music. Her breakthrough came with the 2009 release of My Heart Is Ever Present, followed by the 2011 album Storyteller on EMI Classics. Helseth performed with orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony and the Shanghai Symphony, and toured internationally, including a 2019 U.S. tour with her allâfemale brass ensemble tenThing. She received the 2007 Spellemannprisen for Best Newcomer, and was named by BBC Music Magazine as a Superstar of Tomorrow in 2011.
