Biography

Those Darn Accordions, an American accordion band from San Francisco, California, were formed in 1989 by Linda "Big Lou" Seekins. The group originated when Seekins assembled thirteen accordionists for a one-time show at the Paradise Lounge, receiving positive audience response that led to further performances and publicity stunts. In 1990, they traveled to Italy for an accordion festival, discovering they had entered a competition instead. Their debut album Vongole Fisarmonica was released in 1992, featuring covers and original material. The band's lineup fluctuated but stabilized around eight to ten musicians by the late 1990s. They released several albums including Squeeze This! (1994), No Strings Attached (1996), Clownhead (1999), and Squeeze Machine (2007). Known for their unique blend of rock, pop, and polka, as well as humorous lyrics by frontman Paul Rogers, Those Darn Accordions continued to tour extensively across the United States.
