Biography

The Whigs, an American garage rock band from Athens, Georgia, were formed in 2002 by Parker Gispert, Julian Dorio, and original bassist Hank Sullivant. The trio played their first show at DT’s Down Under Club in Athens in May 2002 and began building momentum through frequent regional and out-of-town gigs, including regular trips to New York. In 2005, they recorded and independently released their debut album Give ’Em All a Big Fat Lip, which gained notable attention and led to a signing with ATO Records in July 2006, followed by a re-release of the album. Their third studio album, In The Dark, was released in 2010, and featured songs including “Kill Me Carolyne” and “Hundred / Million.” The band also appeared multiple times on late-night television, including performances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
