Biography

The Three Suns, an American pop group, were formed in 1939 by brothers Al Nevins and Morty Nevins along with their cousin Artie Dunn. The trio became a popular nightclub attraction around New York and scored their first hit record with "Twilight Time" in 1944, which sold over four million copies and was awarded a gold record. Their instrumental version of "Rumors are Flying" reached Number 1 in America in November 1946, followed by "Peg o' My Heart", one of the biggest hits of 1947. They were featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s film Rope and continued to make live appearances throughout the 1950s. The group's popularity began to wane with the rise of rock and roll, but they reinvented themselves by experimenting with additional instruments and stereophonic effects. The band disbanded in 1966.
