Biography

Formed by Dutch producers Robin Albers (AKA Jaydee), Dieter Kranenburg (AKA Typar) and Michel Rozenbroek (AKA Atbe), the Sunclub released a string of popular dance singles during the 1990s and early 2000s. Prior to joining the group, Jaydee launched his DJ career with the 1993 house single "Plastic Dreams," which topped two different charts in America. None of the Sunclub's releases matched that feat in the U.S., but the group enjoyed more than a decade's worth of success in their native Netherlands, beginning with 1996's "Fiesta de Los Tamborileros." Released as the first single from the Sunclub's full-length debut, Fiesta, "Fiesta de Los Tamborileros" peaked at Number 3 on the Dutch charts and followed by a number of Top 40 hits, including "Splash," "Good Time," and "Te Te (Shake That Heaven)." The Sunclub's biggest success arrived in 2003, when "Fiesta de Los Tamborileros" was sampled heavily by the Underdog Project for "Summer Jam 2003." Credited to both bands, the song was a hit throughout Europe and a multi-week Number 1 smash in the Netherlands, where it became the best-selling song of 2003.
