The Slow Country is a British alternative folk collective formed in Manchester and based in London. Formed in the mid-2020s, the group comprises Joe Darley (vocals, guitar), Charlie Smith (vocals, guitar), James Darley (guitar), Finnbar Simmonds (bass), Gina Edwards (keyboards, vocals), Miren Summers (fiddle) and Ben Court (drums). Blending traditional folk roots with modern production combining strings and subtle electronic touches, The Slow Country released their first self-produced single, "Walking Song", in 2024, followed by "Right There Inside" and "Amy Stew" in 2025. In 2026, following the release of "Firing Line", the follow-up track "In the Mud " reached number 56 in the UK singles chart.
