Biography

The Shys were an indie rock band from Southern California, formed in 2004. The group consisted of Kyle Krone, Chris Wulff, Riley Stephenson, and Ryan Hansen. Initially known as "The Gun Shys," they opened for The Killers in Las Vegas and released a six-song EP on Intravenous Records. In 2006, they performed at South by Southwest Music Festival and Street Scene, leading to their debut album Astoria on Sire Records. The album featured the singles "Call in the Calvary" and "Waiting on the Sun", with "Call in the Calvary" being featured in HBO’s Entourage. In 2008, they released the EP She's Already Gone and the album You'll Never Understand This Band the Way That I Do on Aeronaut Records. The band disbanded in 2009 after playing at SXSW festival. "Call in the Calvary" remains their most popular song, featured in films like Prom Night.
