Biography
The Shizit was an American digital hardcore band from Seattle, Washington, formed in early 1999 by J.P. Anderson and Brian Shrader, later joined by turntablist Jason Alberts. The group initially gained traction by releasing two CDs on MP3.com, building a following through underground sources. Their intense mix of gabber, breakbeat, drum and bass, hardcore techno, and heavy metal guitars, combined with aggressive political lyrics, set them apart in the electronic music scene. In 2001, The Shizit released their album Soundtrack for the Revolution (also known as SoFTeR) on E115 Records, a Canadian indie label. Tracks from this album were featured on Alec Empire's Don't Fuck With US compilation, and the band toured Europe with Empire. The group disbanded by the end of 2002 due to personal disputes between Anderson and Shrader. A remix album, Remixed for the Revolution, was released in 2004 following the bandâs breakup on D-Trash Records.
