Biography

Bryce Avary, born in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, is an American singer-songwriter known for his solo project The Rocket Summer. Avary's musical journey began at age 12 when he received his first guitar and started teaching himself various instruments. He released his first EP under the name The Rocket Summer in 2000, which sold out its initial print run and was later re-released as The Early Years EP. His debut album, Calendar Days, followed in 2003. Avary signed with Island Def Jam Records in 2006 and released his second studio album, Do You Feel, in July 2007, which peaked at Number 44 on the Billboard 200. His fifth album, Life Will Write the Words (2012), reached Number 58 on The Billboard 200 and Number 12 on both the Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums and Top Independent Albums charts.
