Biography

THE PRIMALS, the official band of "Final Fantasy XIV," was formed in 2014 under the leadership of Sound Director Masayoshi Soken. The members are Masayoshi Soken (Gt/Vo), Michael-Christopher Koji Fox (Vo), GUNN (Gt), Eikichi Iwai (Ba) and Tetsuya Tachibana (Dr). They have contributed to four official arrangement albums: From Astral to Umbral (2014) Duality (2016) Journeys (2019) and Scions & Sinners (2021). Not just limited to Japan, the band has performed worldwide at FINAL FANTASY XIV FAN FESTIVAL events across North America, Europe, South Korea, and China, reflecting their international acclaim. In May 2018, THE PRIMALS released their first original album, THE PRIMALS and embarked on their first solo concert tour, THE PRIMALS ZeppTour 2018 -Trial By Shadow- visiting four cities across Japan and also holding a successful solo concert in Seoul, South Korea. Their activities culminated with the release of "Endwalker" the theme song for the latest expansion "Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker," in November 2021, which was made available on 7-inch vinyl. The band's latest release, Riding Horse (2024) continues to showcase their dynamic sound and thematic depth, characteristic of their vibrant performances and deep connection to the "Final Fantasy XIV" universe.
