Biography

The Phantom Band emerge straight from the fertile soil of the Scottish underground scene. Since signing in 2008 to the Scottish label Chemikal Underground, home of Mogwai and Arab Strap, The Phantom Band have made a mockery of classifications, offering a neo-psychedelic rock that combines aggression and pop melody. A discreet, perfectionist sextet, The Phantom Band embodies the richness of Glasgow's alternative scene, with a zest of folk melody like the slow-burning "Island" on debut album Checkmate Savage(2009) or " Goodnight Arrow " on its successor The Wants (2010). Reappearing in 2014 with the album Strange Friend, the band offered the following year its dark, negative double from the same sessions: Fears Trending.
