Biography
The Peth, a Welsh rock music supergroup band, was formed in Cardiff, Wales in 2008. The group was initiated by Super Furry Animals drummer Dafydd Ieuan as a side project while other members of the Super Furry Animals were engaged in solo and other projects. The lineup included actor and former Super Furry Animals lead singer Rhys Ifans on vocals, along with several other musicians, notably including Super Furry Animals bassist Guto Pryce, Meilyr Gwynedd, Osian Gwynedd, Mick Hilton, Dic Ben, and Kris Jenkins. The Pethâs debut album, The Golden Mile, was released in 2008. The band played their first concerts in Wales that same year before performing in London and appearing at the Green Man Festival. In 2009, they supported Oasis at a concert in Cardiffâs Millennium Stadium.
