Biography

The Paranoid Style, a Washington, D.C.-based garage rock band led by Elizabeth Nelson and Timothy Bracy, formed in 2012. The band's name is derived from Richard J. Hofstadter’s 1964 essay The Paranoid Style in American Politics. Their initial releases were the EPs The Power of Our Proven System and The Purposes of Music in General, both released together by Misra Records in 2013. The band's first physical release was the EP Rock & Roll Just Can't Recall, issued by Battle Worldwide Recordings in 2015. Their full-length debut, Rolling Disclosure, followed on July 15, 2016 via Bar/None Records. Notable songs include "Giving Up Early (On Tomorrow)" and the video for "The Thrill is Back!". The band released the EP Underworld U.S.A. in 2017 and a split single with Wussy in 2018. Their subsequent albums include A Goddamn Impossible Way of Life (2019) and For Executive Meeting (2022).
