Biography

The Ophelias was an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in 2015. The group consisted of members who met while serving as "token girls" in various male-fronted local bands. Drawing from backgrounds in garage-rock, surf, and opera, the ensemble released its debut album, Creature Native, in 2015 via Joyful Noise Recordings. Following their discovery by Yoni Wolf at a festival, the band released the album Almost in July 2018 and toured with the Low Anthem. This period included the release of the singles "Fog" and "Lunar Rover". In 2020, they published the EP For Luck, followed by their third album, Crocus, in 2021, which featured Julien Baker on the song "Neil Young on High". The group’s discography further expanded to include the EP Ribbon (2024) and the album Spring Grove (2025).
