Biography

Uncle Bonsai, a contemporary folk trio from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1981. Their early albums included A Lonely Grain of Corn (1984) and Boys Want Sex in the Morning (1986). The band took a hiatus from 1989 to 1998, reforming briefly before another break until 2008. During their active periods, Uncle Bonsai headlined at clubs and festivals throughout North America and opened for artists such as Bonnie Raitt and Toto. Notable albums from their later career include The Grim Parade (2010) and The Family Feast: The Study of the Human Condition, First World Problems, and the Lasting Physiological and Psychological Effects of Eating Our Young (2017).
